Rice Dream Frozen Dessert, Vanilla Swiss Almond pints
We’ve been advised by Imagine Foods hat the Vanilla Swiss Almond variety of
Rice Dream Frozen Dessert may contain undeclared peanuts.
The voluntary recall is in effect for containers with the UPC code
084253-212885. The code printed on the container is 6-11877541 9147 BH.
The product is being recalled throughout North America. Imagine Foods has
elected not to fund an alert to FAN members.

Recall
Keebler Company announced that, as a precaution, it is recalling Keebler
Frosted Animal Cookies 16-ounce bag-UPC# 3010011346. This product
contains dairy whey and non-fat dry milk solids, which are not declared on the
ingredient statement. Consumers sensitive to dairy ingredients may become
ill if they consume this product.
Two reports of allergic reactions have been reported to date. Keebler has
voluntarily taken this action due to the risk for consumers sensitive to
dairy ingredients. The packages are sold in 16-ounce bags. The product
is distributed east of the Rocky Mountains.
Grocers are being advised by Keebler Company to remove the product from
shelves and hold it for the company to pick up.
Food Allergy Network members who have this product are asked to return the
product to the place of purchase for replacement or refund. Consumers may
call 1-800-648-6525 for further information. This mailing is being funded
by the Keebler Company to be sure that you are aware of this situation.

GOLDEN GRAHAMS TREATS: New Product Launch and Allergen Labeling
This memo is to inform the Food Allergy Network and it’s members that
General Mills is currently launching an extension to the Golden Graham
Treats product line. This new product, Golden Graham Treats Peanut Butter
Chocolate bars, contains peanut ingredients.
Golden Graham Treats Peanut Butter Chocolate bars are packaged on the same
equipment that is used for packaging the two other Golden Graham Treats
products, Marshmallow Graham and S’more Chocolate Chunk bars. For this
reason, the packages of Marshmallow Graham and S’more Chocolate Chunk bars
are now labeled “Contains Peanut Ingredients.” In addition, these packages
have a front and top panel statement in contrasting color that reads
“Peanut Sensitive Consumer See Ingredient List.” This allergen labeling is
designed to provide additional communication to those consumers with food
allergies.
Golden Graham Treats Peanut Butter Chocolate bars will be available in the
marketplace starting in late September 1999. Please direct any questions on

BOOBERRY and COUNT CHOCULA CEREALS: Label Change and Allergen Labeling
General Mills’ BooBerry and Count Chocula cereals are now labeled with
“Contains Peanut Ingredients.” They are packaged on equipment that is also
used to package products containing peanut ingredients.
TRIX CEREAL PREMIUM: Allergen Labeling for Lifesavers inside
In September, packages of General Mills’ Trix cereal will contain a sample
of Lifesaver Fruit Chews. The candy will be wrapped in it own package and
will not be in direct contact with the cereal. For these cartons of Trix,
the Lifesavers will be labeled as “Contains Egg Ingredients.” An additional
reminder to read the ingredient listing will appear on the top flap of the
carton. This promotion will last approximately two months.
