Asthma Awareness Day
Just what the doctor ordered!

Red Alert! Red Alert! The alarm is going off in your headyou are wheezing, coughing, you feel tight in your chest! You ask, “How do I control my asthma?”

“Why do I feel like my asthma always controls me?”

If you find yourself asking this question, or if you simply need more information on how to manage your, or your child’s asthma and allergies; you should attend Asthma Awareness Day!

The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, Maryland-Washington, D.C. Chapter (“AAFA”) and The Greater Baltimore Medical Center’s (“GBMC”) Harriet and Jeannette Weinberg Community Health Center are hosting the Third Annual Asthma Awareness Day, on Saturday, April 24, 1999. On the menu will be fun-filled educational activities for children and various speakers for adults with asthma and allergies.

Children will be invited to participate in different interactive stations designed to educate them about the many facets of asthma and allergy management. Topics that will be covered include: peak flow meters, inhalers and spacers, food allergies, medication, environmental control, asthma aggravators, and more!

Adults will be given several choices for different seminars, which will be presented by health professionals with expertise in asthma and allergy management. Topics that will be covered include: Asthma and Allergy Basics, Medications, Food Allergy Management, and School Mangement of Asthma and Allergies, to name just a few. A special panel will also be convened to discuss Environmental Controls.
